Year Three Week 8

It is past new year as I am typing this so I am going to finish November with one big page.

There was a hole in the foredeck where the hawsepipe was for the old anchor winch. This hole won't match up for the new winch, if I ever get it out of storage. I cleaned it up and cut back the deck core in the hole, then filled it with fiberglass circles then smoothed off the top. There is no antiskid here on the foredeck until I take the tent down

During the course of the month the engine got plumbed. The fittings and hose all have to be figured out and ordered. Lots of time on line and in local stores. The only hoses missing in this pic are the hoses to the hot water heater. Note how everything is out of the way, water and fuel filters are accessible but tucked out of the way of working on the engine.

Worked continued on getting the cockpit ready to paint. The anti skid is very badly cracked, especially in areas of high traffic. Rather than try to fill those cracks I opted to just fiberglass over these areas. This will prevent the cracks from propagating through the new gelcoat anti skid.

Here is a close up of one of the areas. It would take a long time to grind out those cracks and fill them.

Here is a fiberglassed antiskid patch. I roll plastic after the fiberglass is wetted out which makes for a smooth finish that needs no further work before gelcoating.
