Second Year

Week 3

The arrival of my friend Tom Bauer for some help has really sped up the process. He was a huge help on the final deconstruction as well as cutting insulation panels. We (Tom) cut and fit all the insulation for the Starboard side, it will have to come out for painting but that won't take long. Note the drawer openings under the settee.

A closer look at the insulation in the quarterberth

The Electrical panel will be in the same spot it was in. An electrical duct will come up from under the quarterberth. When I have complex shapes I try to make a pattern rather than go to the plywood first. Here I am using underlayment for the pattern.

The Duct is cut out, not installed yet, still need to paint. Note cover on the insulation on the back of where the electrical panel will be.

The insulation is pulled so I could paint behind. I primed and then painted with Bilgecoat.

I built a lid for the tank, layed up fiberglass on a flat surface and cut to shape.
